Job Overview
- The Team Lead -- Claims Review is responsible for supervising a
- multidisciplinary team of claims reviewers, estimators, and support personnel to
- ensure timely, accurate, and compliant claims processing in alignment with
- federal regulations and program requirements. This role serves as the primary
- point of escalation and quality assurance for assigned claims, supporting
- continuous training, technical accuracy, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- * Supervise day-to-day work of claims reviewers and technical staff, ensuring
- timely claim assignments and balanced workload distribution
- * Interpret and apply federal regulations, policy guidance, and claims
- procedures to ensure compliance
- * Monitor the accuracy and quality of claims reviews, flag inconsistencies, and
- enforce corrective actions where necessary
- * Provide coaching, feedback, and refresher training to ensure team proficiency
- in claims systems and regulations
- * Coordinate with SMEs, site inspectors, and government stakeholders to resolve
- technical or policy-based claim issues
- * Maintain organized tracking and reporting of team progress, deliverables, and
- escalated matters
- * Serve as the escalation point for claimants and internal staff, helping
- resolve conflicts, documentation issues, and compensation determinations
- * Support the quality control process by collaborating with QC personnel on
- rework and compliance issues
- * Participate in system of record input, document uploads, and workflow
- management
- * Provide technical advisement to team members and ensure adherence to program
- training and data integrity requirements
- * Positively and professionally represent the Claims Office in all claimant and
- FEMA-facing interactions
Basic Qualifications
- * High School Diploma required
- * Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
- * Formal training in supervision, emergency management, or project coordination
- preferred
- * A minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience in claims/case processing
- roles including customer service, data entry, reviewing, and evaluating
- disaster-related losses
- * At least three (3) years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity
- * Prior FEMA or federally supported disaster assistance program experience is
- highly preferred
- * Ability to understand and interpret complex federal policy language,
- including relevant statutes, regulations, policies, and program guidance
- * Disaster-related knowledge and background to accurately assess losses,
- damages, repairs, and replacement costs
- * Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; able to explain
- regulations and compensation to claimants, FEMA staff, and internal teams
- * Proficiency in claims management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and
- valuation/documentation tools used in claims workflows
- * Ability to manage team performance using effective communication; assess
- workload and delegate; accordingly, provide mentorship and technical
- guidance; resolve and escalate personnel and process issues
- * Skilled at identifying gaps in performance, providing feedback, and
- supporting training initiatives

- As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range
- for this position is $33.00 to $40.00 per hour. Compensation depends on several
- factors including experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the
- position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal
- equity among other employees within APTIM.
