  • The Staff Accountant plays an important role in the company’s financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting principles. This position supports a variety of accounting functions, including data entry, account reconciliations, and activities related to both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Attention to detail and a solid background in accounting are essential, as the work directly supports the financial health and overall success of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and process invoices in QuickBooks, ensuring billing procedures are accurate, systematic, and well-organized.
  • Support accurate inventory accounting by performing inventory reconciliations, resolving discrepancies with vendors, and ensuring correct cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting.
  • Allocate payments to the appropriate accounts payable invoices and match deposits to the corresponding accounts receivable invoices.
  • Manage both virtual and physical company cards, including reconciliation and documentation of all transactions.
  • Oversee operations within Bill.com, using its features to streamline and maintain accuracy in the accounts payable process.
  • Administer accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and adherence to established terms.
  • Monitor accounts receivable collections, follow up with customers as needed, and notify the Controller of past-due accounts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support organizational needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general accounting or a similar role
  • Inventory and e-commerce experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with other accounting systems
  • Advanced skills in Excel and/or Google Sheets for data management and analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
