About the client

• Our client is a company that serves over 100 million fans across 200+ countries online and in-person, streaming video, games, and events. The client is seeking a Software Engineer on the game console team to contribute and develop a web-based app targeting all popular consoles.

Responsibilities

• Own key features and improvements, ensuring high-quality code and optimal performance
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Program Management, Product, and QA teams worldwide to shape the technology roadmap
• Deliver impactful results that align with business and product goals
• Contribute as part of an international team of 100+ client engineers
• Directly support the mission to remain the premier destination for anime streaming

Location

• Hybrid role in Mexico City, MX
• Focus Areas
• Core expertise in JavaScript / TypeScript
• Web application optimization with emphasis on performance, scalability, and user experience
• Must-Have Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
• Proven track record delivering large-scale, consumer-facing web applications
• Strong background in performance tuning and scalable design
• Ability to identify bottlenecks and implement effective architectural improvements
• Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience building applications for console or smart TV platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, HbbTV)
• Familiarity with React or other modern frontend frameworks
• History of partnering with senior engineers and leadership to drive technical roadmaps
• Experience balancing trade-offs between performance and user experience
• Previous involvement in streaming or media platform projects
