Ayvens Mexico is looking for a Senior Portfolio Specialist that will provide assessment and management of potential risks within an organization to safeguard its financial stability and operations. SCOPE and responsibilities The main responsibility of the Portfolio Analyst is measuring and monitoring the risk of the portfolio of Latam countries by: Preparing and presenting quarterly credit committees (ERC), in liaison with credit, finance and other LOD1/2 teams Taking part in various cross-functional projects, notably on regulatory related matters (NDOD, LOM, trainings on new procedures, policies gap analysis and implementation, improvement of local reporting and key materials…). Providing key reporting files to the appropriate teams on a regular basis (Aging Balance, Upcoming Renewals, Flowback File, Cost of Risk) and improving data quality. Being the first point of contact regarding regulatory and technical topics. Contributing to monitoring risk policies and their indicators. Participating in the onboarding and training of new LOD2 Credit team members. Executing and following up the continuous improvement actions identified in the credit process. In a risk monitoring and control function, he/she is responsible for the oversight of the scoring and rating rules being applied by the first line of defense and providing oversight of the whole credit process, as well as monitoring the portfolio concerning early warning indicators, watchlists and default. According to the department’s needs, as part of his support to the LOD2 Portfolio Analyst, participate in the NPE (non-performing exposures) management and provisioning: Validation of watchlist Validation of default status, default exemptions and decision to exit default Challenge and validation of quarterly Cost of Risk (CoR) estimate Validation of quarterly provision calculation (individual and collective) Validation of annual CoR budget Oversight of hard collection activities Validation and challenge of provisioning activities Definition of provisioning procedures Challenging, understanding and validation of quarterly provisions estimate Send to ALD/RISK CoR analysis of the country Send IPS form to Central PAG when required – in alignment with central LOD 2 Validation of CoR budget – in alignment with central LOD 2 Finally, for credit origination, he/she is responsible for making credit decisions within their local authority and over credit analyst LoD1 signing authority, as defined in the delegation letter. They are also requested to validate ratings used during the credit assessment for non-retail exposures. Skills Requirements Required Expertise Relevant University degree (Bachelor/Masters level) e.g. in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration. Candidates with higher education on Credit risks topics, combined with adequate knowledge of the financial sector will also be considered. Knowledge about Credit risks including a very good understanding of current requirements in Credit risks management and governance. Strong financial analysis and accounting capabilities. A good understanding of the scope of risk management practices and techniques including experience in the development and implementation of risk policies. Knowledge regarding banking regulations (EBA) and interaction with ECB and local regulators. Previous experience in a comparable role in the financial services sector (over 5 years) Soft Skills Regularly communicate information that is timely, relevant, and tailored to each audience. This includes being transparent about both positive and negative developments. Ability to manage diverse work and overlapping priorities. An open mind-set and willingness to learn.
