Project Overview I am developing a small electronic device and need an experienced hardware freelancer to help move the project from concept to a prototype-ready design. I already have: 3D enclosure files for the initial prototype (rough but functional) Plans for the initial circuitry, including component list and functional requirements I now need expert support in completing the PCB development and refining the enclosure for proper fit, manufacturability, and clean internal layout. Scope of Work PCB Design Review existing circuitry plans and advise on any necessary adjustments Create the full schematic and PCB layout Ensure correct placement of connectors, buttons, LEDs, and any mechanical interface points Generate Gerbers, BOM, pick and place, and other fabrication files Provide a clean 3D STEP model of the PCB and components for mechanical integration Enclosure / 3D Model Refinement Import PCB STEP files and refine the enclosure for proper internal clearances Improve mounting features, standoffs, and connector openings Adjust tolerances and geometry to prepare for 3D printing or early manufacturing Provide updated STEP files for prototyping Deliverables Complete PCB design package ready for fabrication Updated enclosure model with correct fit for the board Final STEP files for both PCB and enclosure Brief documentation summarizing design notes, assumptions, and recommendations Required Experience Proven PCB design work for real products or prototypes Strong skills in KiCad or Altium (either is acceptable) Solid mechanical CAD experience in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Onshape Demonstrated experience integrating PCBs into enclosures Ability to communicate clearly and provide organized deliverables Preferred Experience Consumer electronics, IoT devices, or compact hardware Experience preparing files for 3D printing or small-batch prototyping Understanding of basic DFM practices What I Will Provide Existing 3D enclosure files (STEP or similar) Initial circuitry plans and component requirements Functional goals and constraints for both mechanical and electrical design
