  • Job Description
  • Responsible for procurement support to John Crane’s operational sites covering direct spend materials, components and subcontract services. Providing local sourcing and RFQ services, interfaces with local planning and operations teams and supplier troubleshooting.
  • Key Activities
  • To act as point of escalation for the Purchasing Shared Service (PSC) for supplier issues related to suppliers in their country or that service the operational base of the Operational Procurement Specialist.
  • When required, to monitor and improve supplier performance: (1) Liaise with external suppliers to expedite delivery where required to meet business needs (2) Act as the point of contact/liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders where required (3) Track and manage supplier delivery performance to meet JC targets and requirements
  • To support local operations and planning teams to expedite specific orders that are required to ensure internal production is not impacted by supplier performance
  • When local sources of supply are required, within levels of delegated authority negotiates, and when not covered by the PSC team, to actively identify and deliver opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and improved cash management through effective supplier negotiation and /or supplier selection to improve bottom line company performance.
  • Contribute to the Procurement savings targets (within local / country allowed mandates), KPIs and its mission and vision
  • Key accountabilities
  • Accountable for sourcing, RFQs and negotiations with local suppliers.
  • Accountable for providing procurement interface support to local operations and planning teams.
  • Taking accountability and ownership for the timely resolution of issues, incidents and complaints (such as non-conformity, supplier returns, supplier performance issues, delayed deliveries, PO queries, invoices and payment queries etc.).
  • Escalation point from the PSC.
  • Escalation to Operational Procurement Regional Manager when all actions have been exhausted with a supplier and further intervention is still required to achieve improvements.

  • Qualifications
  • Skills and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in International Bussines, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or similar
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Ability to work with suppliers to develop improvement action plans
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Experience of technical product purchasing of direct items
  • Experience in Oil & Gas or similar process industry
