ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • · Obtain and document patient vitals.
  • · Perform bedside testing.
  • · Perform basic nursing procedures such as oral care, perineal/foley care, non-sterile soaks, or thermal applications.
  • · Ensure cleanliness of office and examination rooms.
  • · Clean and store equipment.
  • · Maintain supply inventory and re-stock as required.
  • · Perform basic clerical duties as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • · As assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES

  • · Knowledge of basic nursing and patient care.
  • AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
  • Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
  • Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ø Education – High school diploma or equivalent; plus specialized, short-term training in basic patient care.
  • Ø Work Experience – clinic setting preferred.
  • Ø Training – Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training required.
  • Ø License/Certification – Certification in Nurse Assisting or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred.
  • ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
