  • Job Description
  • We are seeking a Mechanical Desktop Assistant to support the technical documentation and coordination of mechanical systems in data center construction projects. This role works closely with engineers and site teams to ensure drawings, specifications, and compliance materials are accurate, organized, and aligned with project goals.
  • Responsibilities
  • Documentation & Drawing Support
  • Assist in the review and organization of mechanical drawings, specifications, and installation documents related to HVAC, piping, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
  • Support engineers in revising technical documentation based on field updates, contractor input, or design adjustments.
  • Maintain drawing logs and ensure version control, particularly during active construction and commissioning phases.
  • Use platforms such as AutoCAD and BIM viewers to support mechanical coordination and drawing visualization.
  • Technical and Compliance Assistance
  • Help verify that documentation aligns with Mexican standards, international codes, and internal project requirements.
  • Collaborate with site teams to track installation progress and cross-reference technical drawings with actual execution.
  • Assist in identifying inconsistencies and preparing reports for lead engineers or project managers.
  • Contractor Coordination Support
  • Participate in internal meetings with construction teams and contractors to clarify mechanical scope and resolve technical queries.
  • Help maintain logs of qualifications, certifications, and site readiness for mechanical contractors.
  • Track documentation related to pre-commissioning and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Reporting & Planning Assistance
  • Prepare summary reports based on daily or weekly activities in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Support planning teams with inputs for construction schedules and mechanical milestones.
  • Organize documentation for design reviews, inspections, and test readiness files.
  • Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in technical coordination or desktop support in industrial or data center construction projects.
  • Technical degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and document management systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical system components and installation phases.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, with strong attention to detail and technical communication skills.
