Job Overview

  • We’re helping our client find a sharp, highly organized Legal & Compliance Manager (Senior Paralegal–level) to work directly with senior leadership. This role owns day-to-day legal operations across contracts, trademarks, brand protection, and compliance, while also serving as a key support partner to the HR team. This is an execution-focused role for someone who thrives in fast-growing consumer brands and knows how to keep legal work moving without over-lawyering.

Responsibilities

  • Legal & Contracts
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts including vendor agreements, influencer/affiliate agreements, NDAs, MSAs, licensing, and partnerships
  • Maintain contract lifecycle management (tracking, renewals, obligations, risk flags)
  • Coordinate with outside counsel as needed and manage legal workflows efficiently
  • Trademarks & Brand Protection
  • Manage trademarks, filings, renewals, and enforcement in coordination with outside counsel
  • Monitor and support brand protection efforts (infringement, counterfeit activity, unauthorized use)
  • Support IP strategy as the brand expands into new categories and markets
  • Compliance & Risk
  • Support corporate compliance initiatives (policies, governance, record-keeping)
  • Assist with regulatory considerations relevant to beauty / CPG (marketing claims support, documentation, disclosures)
  • Identify potential legal or operational risks and escalate appropriately
  • HR & Employment Support (Bonus Scope)
  • Support HR with compliance-related matters (employment agreements, contractor classifications, onboarding documentation)
  • Assist with policy updates, handbooks, and compliance tracking across jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with external employment counsel when needed

Must-Have

  • 5+ years of experience in a legal operations, paralegal, or in-house legal support role
  • Hands-on experience with contracts, trademarks, and IP coordination
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams independently
  • Comfortable working directly with executives and acting as a trusted operator
  • Pragmatic, business-minded approach to legal work (knows when to push vs. when to simplify)

Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience supporting HR or employment compliance
  • Experience supporting consumer brands, beauty, CPG, or e-commerce strongly preferred
  • Exposure to international trademarks or global brand protection
  • Experience scaling with a fast-growth brand
