- In Fortune Brands Innovation, Inc. We are seeking an experienced International Transportation Analyst you will be responsable for providing daily support to Transportation operations with a focus on Inbound Ocean—network performance, freight costs, service optimization, and continuous improvement. This individual will use their business and logistics expertise to partner with cross-functional teams, as well as work independently, to identify additional value-added opportunities. This position reports to the Dray Manager in Deerfield, IL.
- Job Description
- Manage all the details of all inbound ocean container from booking to delivery to final destination.
- Responsible for daily inbound ocean container operations
- Collaborate with freight forwarder, ocean carrier and dray providers to solve daily operational issues.
- Coordinate inland transportation, documentation and container tracking as needed.
- Facilitate and proactively communicate the status of ocean container across the organization
- Act as main point of contact for all inbound ocean container matters
- Proactively report, research and, and quickly solve non-conformances and apply lessons learned to process improvement.
- Work with Transportation and Distribution managers to ensure container on-time
- Maintain container milestones and solve data discrepancies as needed.
- Execute and keep internal SOPs up to date
- Perform ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Provide additional support within the Transportation team as needed.
- Work closely with operations teams to develop opportunities for continuous improvement
- Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in the Ocean-Freight Forwarding Industry.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of the import/export Industry from a mid to large size corporation.
- Candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of freight forwarding.
- Knowledge of the transportation industry including contract pricing, regulations, and general operations.
- Ability to handle difficult or unexpected transportation situations and then propose and implement such solutions.
- Candidate must be highly organized, detailed orientated and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated individual as well as strong player.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills
- Excellent proven Excel skills. Able to handle functions as pivot tables, pivot charts and VLOOKUP formulas.
