Compensation: $25.96-$32.45 Compensation Type: Hourly Employment Type: Regular Grade: NE07 Position Summary A Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the security operations for CNM. This position supervises a team of security personnel, ensuring the safety and security of the premises, employees, and visitors. The supervisor develops and implements security protocols, conducts regular inspections, and responds to security incidents. The Security Supervisor trains and evaluates security staff, maintains security equipment, and collaborates with other departments to enhance security measures. This position coordinates field operations of security officers, which includes scheduling, shift coverage, special event coordination and Security Officer briefing; and performs duties of Security Officer as needed. Duties & Responsibilities • Supervises and manages staff, which includes prioritizing, and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy, and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. • Act as liaison with local emergency responders. • Patrols campus on foot, in assigned motor vehicle, or other specialized vehicle to ensure personal, building, and equipment security as well as parking areas and/or parking garages to provide public security and assistance. • Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security, uses College keys to open and close buildings, monitors closed buildings for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities. • Inform faculty, staff, students, and visitors of violations and infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles. • Provides safety escort services for visitors, students, staff, and faculty, as necessary; provides other public assistance, such as lockout services, jump-starts, tire changes and routine information. • Responsible for managing and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required. • Performs periodic checks of streetlights to ensure proper functioning and reports malfunctions. • Provides safe and efficient transportation to CNM employees and visitors, as requested, using a CNM vehicle. • Responds promptly to errors that may cause delays, disrupt activities, and affect the accuracy of an engagement or audit, taking corrective actions as necessary. • Maintain security controls for CNM access and access cards including safeguards and controls issued in forms of university equipment. • Provides specialized security in a retail or other complex operational area, requiring specific knowledge of the operating environment. • Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required. • Serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. • Perform other related duties as assigned.
