- Job Summary
- The Fixed Income Trade Associate will work primarily with a Portfolio Manager to ensure all mutual funds, UCITs and other assigned accounts have the necessary daily liquidity to meet their cash needs. The associate will work with fund accounting and utilize various systems such as Bloomberg to monitor these needs. This individual will then invest any remaining cash in money market instruments such as commercial paper and U.S. Treasury bills, among others. The associate will ensure all investments meet regulatory and client investment guidelines.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned accounts to ensure there is sufficient cash to meet daily liquidity needs.
- Buy and sell money market instruments such as commercial paper and U.S. Treasury bills.
- Assess relative value across various money market instruments to provide an attractive return that is consistent with capital preservation on cash in accounts while also ensuring those accounts will have liquidity as needed.
- Ensure all money market investments adhere to regulatory and client-specific rules.
- Maintain the list of issuers approved by a Portfolio Manager for credit investments such as commercial paper.
- Monitor issuers on the approved list for fundamental credit changes and make recommendations to the Portfolio Manager for changes to the list.
- Collaborate with Fund Accounting, Settlements, Operations, and other departments, as needed.
- Requirements
- 2 + years of full time, professional work experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree – required.
- CFA or progress toward – preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work an early schedule, typically starting around 4am to align with market activity and account liquidity needs.
- Proficiency in Excel.
