- Culinary Training Responsibilities – Cruise Ship Skill Development & Guest Service Enhancement
- Design, deliver, and assess culinary training sessions for galley team members of all levels, ensuring knowledge transfer on company standards, recipes, cooking techniques, and sanitation protocols.
- Monitor and evaluate the application of culinary standards across all food venues, providing constructive feedback and targeted training to elevate quality and consistency.
- Support onboarding and integration of new culinary team members through personalized orientation, skill assessments, and mentorship.
- Conduct hands-on demonstrations and workshops on advanced cooking methods, global cuisines, menu changes, plating, and allergen/dietary accommodations.
- Enforce compliance with USPH, HACCP, and cruise line food safety and hygiene requirements, supporting safe and efficient kitchen operations at all times.
- Collaborate with Executive Chefs, department heads, and HR teams to identify training needs, design curricula, and align learning programs to brand objectives.
- Document training activities, progress, and development outcomes to support compliance, audits, and performance management processes.
- Champion an inclusive and respectful learning environment, valuing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of every crewmember.
- Requirements – Culinary Trainer Cruise Ship Qualifications & Skills
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Culinary Trainer, or relevant role in a high-volume, quality-driven hospitality environment. Prior cruise ship or luxury hotel experience strongly preferred.
- Proven training, coaching, or mentoring experience, with the ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate culinary standards to teams with diverse backgrounds.
- Comprehensive expertise in international cuisines, contemporary and classic cooking techniques, and large-scale food production.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene regulations specific to maritime environments.
- Outstanding organizational, leadership, and presentation skills, along with adaptability to evolving service needs and guest expectations.
- Professional English proficiency for delivering training and documentation; additional languages are advantageous but not required.

- Daily Duties – Onboard Culinary Trainer: Food Safety & Galley Staff Development
- Plan and facilitate engaging in-person training, practical workshops, and assessments in galley areas, using both company materials and customized content.
- Coach culinary teams on best practices for mise en place, recipe adherence, portioning, and presentation in diverse dining venues.
- Regularly observe kitchen service, guide staff on safe food handling and equipment use, and immediately address any training needs or operational gaps.
- Foster teamwork, open communication, and continuous learning among crew members to build a culture of culinary excellence and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and performance improvements for reporting and analysis.

- Prepared to live and work at sea on a 6–8 month contract, embracing a multicultural, fast-paced, and adaptable onboard lifestyle.
- Valid passport and all necessary visas for worldwide assignments (such as a US C1/D visa, where required).
