  • The Controller is a hands-on, strategic finance leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations across the company. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and scalable processes to support a growing, multi-brand food business.
  • The Controller partners closely with leadership to provide financial insights, manage cash flow, and support operational decision-making in a fast-moving CPG environment. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable operating at both the transactional and strategic levels.
  • This role is open to all candidates in the Philippines and all over Latin America.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for all entities
  • Prepare and review timely and accurate financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition, inventory accounting, COGS, and accruals
  • Maintain and enforce consistent accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage the chart of accounts and general ledger structure to support brand-level and customer-level analysis
  • Inventory, Costing & Manufacturing Finance
  • Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
  • Ensure accurate standard costing and variance analysis across materials, labor, and overhead
  • Partner with Operations to reconcile production, yields, and inventory movements
  • Drive accuracy and functionality of ERP systems, including Katana
  • Monitor and analyze margins by SKU, customer, and sales channel
  • Cash Flow, AP/AR & Controls
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and short- and medium-term liquidity planning
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Improve working capital efficiency including inventory turns, DSO, and DPO
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and approval workflows
  • Manage vendor payments, ACH and check processes, and banking relationships
  • Systems, Process & Scale
  • Own and optimize accounting systems and integrations including QuickBooks, ERP, and bill-pay tools
  • Improve automation, documentation, and repeatable finance processes
  • Prepare the finance function for audit readiness and future growth
  • Partner on system upgrades, implementations, and reporting enhancements
  • Compliance & External Relationships
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with external CPA firms on tax filings, reviews, and audits
  • Support state and federal reporting requirements as applicable
  • Assist with insurance, sales tax, and other compliance areas
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Manage and develop accounting staff or external resources as the business grows
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to provide financial insights
  • Deliver clear financial analysis to support pricing, promotions, and customer strategy
  • Act as a trusted financial thought partner to the CEO and leadership team

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Experience in CPG, food and beverage, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy businesses strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting, costing, and margin analysis
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and ERP systems
  • Katana experience is a strong plus
  • Proven ability to build and scale processes in a growing or entrepreneurial environment
  • Available to work in US time zones (Graveyard shift in the Philippines)
  • Available to start within 2 weeks from job offer

Technical Requirements

  • Comfortable in using time-trackers (e.g. Time Doctor)
  • Own laptop/desktop, noise-cancelling headphones, and webcam
  • Reliable internet connection (at least 50 Mbps)
  • Available backup equipment in cases of power and internet outages
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Google Workspace
