Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Automation Manager located in Guadalajara, North Campus. The Automation Manager role involves being responsible for specifying, designing, installing, and maintaining automation equipment, tooling and applications as required to meet specifications automation projects, providing consultancy as SME Manager. What a typical day looks like: Take ownership during the entire life cycle of automation projects, from concept to feasibility and from fabrication and test to production. Define, develop, and deploy automation into Flex sites. Design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety. Design and engineer moderate and complex automation equipment, tooling, and applications. Prepare RFQ’s and solicit quotations from automation suppliers. Evaluate supplier quotations to obtain the best combination of technical solution, cost and timing. Develop budget and schedule for projects and manage projects to stay within them. Able to quickly cost evaluate and work up the financial justification for automating. Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers. Manage automation suppliers through all phases of projects. Provide on-site support during machine build, debug and testing/qualification. Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met. Draft qualification protocols and support equipment qualification activities. Develop manufacturing solutions with the best combination of manual, semi-automation and/or full automation. Evaluate and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Implement cost effective automation solution. Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at NPI stage and ensure meeting development timeline. Interface with customers and functional owners on product development issues regarding automation. Conduct design-for-automation examination and provide detailed recommendations. Participate in design reviews and provide status reports as per established schedule. Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment. The experience we’re looking to add to our team: BS degree in Engineering electronics, mechanics, mechatronics or similar. Previous experience in screwing process. Knowledge in AMR equipment. Advance knowledge in electrical design, implementation and debugging for automation development equipment, using electrical design SW, such as: Auto Cad Electrical. Advance knowledge in pneumatic design, implementation and debugging for automation development equipment. Knowledge in automation-maintenance and engineering. Designing and implementing evaluations, plans and internal strategies. GAP analysis: statistics controls. Advanced English level. Impacts long term projects and goals. Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approach to critical assignments. Experience with suppliers for automation integration solution. Interpretation and establishment of KPI and operational metrics for automation devices. Training in safety and ergonomics.
