Title: Architect / Engineer for Plan Coordination & SOP Development (Affordable Housing Projects – Urban Infill, Los Angeles) Description: We are seeking an experienced architect or engineer with strong technical review skills to support our multi-family affordable housing projects in the City of Los Angeles, typically on urban infill sites. Our projects range from 40 to 131 units, with an average size in the 70+ unit range. The role focuses on coordinating and quality-checking plan sets across multiple disciplines (architectural, structural, civil, and MEP) and building out a repeatable review process for future projects. Scope of Work: Review initial plan sets provided by consultants. Identify coordination issues or conflicts between disciplines. Provide markups and a narrative summary of comments/findings. Develop a standardized SOP/checklist of common coordination items across projects. Establish a process that can eventually be handled in part by a VA/assistant as a “first line of defense” for plan reviews. Ideal Candidate: Licensed architect or engineer, or equivalent technical background in design/construction coordination. Familiarity with multi-family housing projects, ideally affordable housing. Strong understanding of multi-discipline drawings (architectural, structural, civil, MEP). Experience with projects in urban infill environments, where tight sites and overlapping systems require careful coordination. Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and communication skills. Experience creating standardized processes, templates, or checklists is a plus. Deliverables: Coordination review and narrative report for initial plan sets. Marked-up drawings highlighting issues. Draft SOP / template checklist for recurring plan reviews. Project Type: Ongoing freelance engagement with potential for recurring reviews as new projects start.
