- The Aquatics Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all aquatics facilities across Defined Fitness. This role serves as the subject matter expert for pools, spas, and saunas, with primary responsibilities including oversight of maintenance procedures, chemical and safety compliance, and vendor coordination. The Aquatics Facility Manager provides guidance to the Maintenance Facilities Technician on aquatics duties, performs site inspections, makes recommendations to leadership, and completes corrective repairs as needed to maintain optimal member experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. Ensure safe daily operations of pools, spas, and saunas, applying professional knowledge of water chemistry and hydraulics to verify chemical and pH levels remain within required health and safety standards.
- 2. Review and analyze chemical logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records completed by the Maintenance Facilities Technician; provide professional interpretation, oversight, and corrective feedback to technicians.
- 3. Serve as the aquatics subject matter expert by diagnosing complex system issues, determining appropriate solutions, developing preventative maintenance schedules, and making recommendations to District Operations Manager.
- 4. Perform advanced corrective repairs to pool and spa systems, including motor repairs, pump replacements, filter rebuilds, plumbing corrections, and electrical troubleshooting, applying specialized technical expertise.
- 5. Provide professional training and guidance to staff involved in aquatics upkeep, ensuring they understand and apply correct methods for chemical testing, log management, and preventative maintenance.
- 6. Maintain aquatics inventory, applying professional standards for chemical handling, storage, and security, while ensuring repair tools and parts are available for ongoing operations.
- 7. Conduct site inspections at Defined Fitness locations, producing detailed end-of-day and weekly reports with findings, completed repairs, training provided, and recommendations for long-term improvements.
- 8. Support the Maintenance Facilities Technician in pool-related tasks when offsite, offering professional troubleshooting assistance and ensuring adherence to Defined Fitness and regulatory standards.
- 9. Stay current with OSHA, state, and local health regulations related to aquatics, applying professional judgment to ensure all facilities meet or exceed those requirements.
- 10. Demonstrate professional awareness of emergency procedures for aquatics and provide expert guidance to club leadership when urgent issues arise.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Recreation, or Aquatics Management preferred.
- 2. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) required.
- 3. Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), preferred.
- 4. Significant hands-on experience with hydraulics, motors, and regulatory compliance required.
- 5. High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- 6. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- 7. Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
- 8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related computer applications.
- 9. Valid New Mexico driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable, insured transportation.
- 10. Available to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
- 11. Strong problem-solving abilities with demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills.
- 12. Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a related field preferred.
